Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the Mini Golf Scorecard app and mini golf in general.

About the App

Is the Mini Golf Scorecard app really free?

Yes, completely free. No ads during play, no subscriptions, and no in-app purchases required to track scores or view your stats. Download the Android app or use the web version at minigolf.zone.

Does it work without an internet connection?

Yes. The app stores all your scorecards locally on your device, so it works perfectly offline — including in basements, tunnels, and areas with no signal. Your data stays on your phone unless you choose to export it.

How many players can I add to a game?

You can add up to 8 players per round. Player names are saved for auto-complete in future games, so you don't have to retype them each time.

Can I track 9-hole and 18-hole courses?

Yes. When you start a new game, you choose the number of holes: 9, 18, or a custom number. The app adapts the scorecard accordingly.

What happens if I accidentally close the app mid-game?

The game state is saved automatically after every stroke. When you reopen the app, you can continue the game exactly where you left off.

Can I go back and correct a score I entered by mistake?

Yes. Tap any score on the scorecard to edit it. The app recalculates totals and stats instantly after any change.

How do I see my stats and history?

The Stats tab shows your lifetime stats: average score per hole, best round ever, total rounds played, hole-in-one count, and win rate. The Scorecards tab lists every saved round with a full breakdown.

Does the app track photos?

Yes — you can attach photos to individual holes within a round. Great for capturing memorable shots, scenic holes, or embarrassing moments to review later.

Is there a web version or does it require a phone?

Both! The web app at minigolf.zone works in any modern browser on phones, tablets, and desktops. The Android app is available on the Google Play Store and provides the best offline experience.

Mini Golf Rules & Scoring

What is the stroke limit / maximum score per hole?

The app uses a default maximum of 6 strokes per hole, matching the most common convention at recreational mini golf courses. You can change this in Settings before starting a game.

How does par work in mini golf scoring?

Par is the expected number of strokes for a hole — usually 2 or 3. You can enter each hole's par when setting up a game, and the app will show whether each player is under, at, or over par throughout the round. Par is optional — if you skip it, the app still tracks all strokes and totals.

What are the official rules of mini golf?

The main rules: count every stroke (including missed shots), add penalty strokes for out-of-bounds, play in turn, and pick up your ball at the stroke limit. See our complete mini golf rules guide for the full breakdown.

How do you keep score in mini golf?

Count every stroke each player makes per hole and record it on the scorecard. Add up all strokes at the end — the player with the lowest total wins. See our step-by-step scoring guide for a full walkthrough with a worked example.

Is my data backed up?

Data is stored locally on your device. There is no cloud backup at this time. If you switch phones, export your data from the Settings screen before migrating.

I found a bug or have a feature request — how do I report it?

Use the feedback option in the app's Settings screen. We read every submission and prioritize based on the number of requests.
